Pittman Industrial Marketing is the leading metal working manufacturers' representative agency in the southeastern United States. We represent manufacturer's of cutting tools, machinery, machine tool accessories, precision measuring equipment, parts washers and industrial marking products. Our success is a result of selling, implementing and servicing a synergistic product portfolio offering our channel partners and user base with a broad range of technology. In 1981 our first Distribution Center offered regional inventory and a band saw blade weld center. Today we provide technical field territory coverage augmented by inside sales and inventory for many of our manufacturers - the result is a regional inventory that limits our channel partners inventory carrying costs. Our weld center is available to authorized regional distribution and includes three production welding machines and two finsih areas. To augment sales and demo products, our display area has machinery under power where we regularly demonstrate equipment and in many cases perform production tests on the customer part - real time testing that does not take away from valuable user production time. For our channel partners this product display area is a ideal training resource for their staff.
Inside we operate as an extension of our manufacturers with full time connectivity to Oracle, PeopleSoft and custom software. Our shipments are delivered as if it was shipped from the factory - same packing lists, packaging and appearance - a translucent and effective solution for both of our partners.
For over 40 years our focus has been the end user. These direct relationships with plant management, engineering, production and maintenance at the key users keeps us in touch with the decision makers. Understanding and delving into their current issues, project concerns and reviewing future production launches enables our staff to qualify the opportunity, identifiy needs, apply the best available solution and deploy the solution into production. We spend our time testing and providing performance data that provides the user with cost savings justifications. The result is added value above and beyond the products our manufacturers produce; it is also our extensive application knowledge and experience that brings additional value to all parties.
Channels of distribution also add value to our sales and service efforts. Recognizing our network of distribution as Trading Partners with our manufacturering partners - not customers - is key to the relationship. Our understanding of inventory turns, margin and overall profitability is critical as we implement strategies and initiatives for our partners. Each channel model requires clear communications in their language that ensure all partners exceed specific goals and objectives. Our channel partners provide unique menus of service and therefore we serve these varying channels with unique approaches. Our partners and users are the ultimate benefactors of the product and services we deliver.
